Tamar Kleinhendler

SciML lab Research Manager

Tamar received her MA in Communications and her BA in Psychology and Communication from the University of Haifa. She is a PhD student at the Department of Communication and Journalism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 
Alongside academic work, Tamar is an experienced marketing professional, with a demonstrated history of working on complex projects in the Consumer Goods & Pharmaceutical industries. Skilled in Marketing strategy, Digital Marketing, Content Development and Market Research.

Harold Ship

Phd Student

Harold is a researcher in Mathematical Optimization and Mathematical Statistics at IBM Research in Israel since 2010, holds a B.Math in Pure Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and an MSc in Information Systems from Athabasca University. His academic journey also includes an MA in the Management of Knowledge and Information from the University of Haifa, and he is currently a Ph.D. student in Mathematical Statistics at the same institution. His diverse educational background, spanning pure mathematics, information systems, and knowledge management, positions him as a versatile researcher capable of bridging theoretical and applied aspects.

Daniel Polster

Daniel is in her third year at Haifa University, studying a B.Sc. in Data Science at the Department of Computer Science. Her work is at the intersection of academic theory and machine learning practice, where she contributes to research that pushes the boundaries of AI.

Dr. Elisheva Salmon

Post Doctoral Researcher

Dr. Elisheva Salmon is a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a Ph.D., specializing in developmental delays in children. She maintains a private practice where she provides therapy for children with developmental challenges. Her doctoral research focused on the acquisition of prepositions in early childhood language development.
Currently, Dr. Salmon serves as the co-chair of the Israeli Speech Language and Hearing Association (ISHLA). Previously, she chaired the association’s conference committee, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of speech-language pathology in Israel. 
With her blend of clinical expertise and research background, Dr. Salmon continues to contribute significantly to both the practical and academic aspects of speech and language therapy.

Dmitrii Smirnov

M.Sc. Student

Dmitrii Smirnov is a Senior Data Engineer/Scientist at Intercontinental Exchange, with a robust background in applied mathematics, statistics, and data science. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Methods in Economics from National Research Tomsk State University (Russia) and a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Haifa (Israel), Dmitrii brings a deep understanding of mathematical and statistical modeling to the field. He has gained diverse global experience in companies such as British American Tobacco, Deloitte, and others. 
Currently, Dmitrii is tackling research problems in the area of statistical inference for dynamic systems. His thesis, which will serve as the foundation for his PhD proposal, focuses on modeling and estimation of nonverbal synchronization, as reflected in motion energy captured by video cameras.
